On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told communication data and data obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported investigations and remains unresolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate phone message, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I believe."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," she added.

The jury was told that through electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, sent early photographs to her phone in a effort to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a early life with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with law enforcement who compiled the data, informed the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On that date, Mr McCann picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a recording on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I will persist and I plan to establish my position."

The court was informed the co-defendant developed a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in the county in that winter.

Phone records showed Mrs Spragg had reached out using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the months leading up to the trip to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.

The court heard correspondence between the two individuals, in last November, discussing endeavoring to acquire Mrs McCann's genetic material from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to take action," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their residence, the defendant transmitted a communication which said: "We find ourselves sitting adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our headlights off like detectives. I wanted to do this with someone else I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case continues.
